Buck Blades

Hi folks. Ive gotten the above two knives and Ive had a chance to take them out and throw them around a bit and I can offer some opinions. Unfortunately these are not Noss style detruction tests.
First af all they are both great knives and at between $50-$60 they are both great values.
The sp10 is larger, thicker/heftier with a gripier handle and its sheath holds the knife firmly with no movement. It could use a pouch though, Ive always found that handy.
The BK9 has a unique design with uses that I have yet to discover. It also has a pouch on the sheath and comes with a small BK13...very useful and a very attractive feature of this knife. The knife rattles around a bit in the sheath and the belt loop is small, my web belt would not go readily through it which I found a little irrititing. I t also has a slightly small handle.
Both knives come shaving sharp both are great choppers and both have a sturdy feel. I did some tree stabbing and they both held up well, I alsao did some wood splitting and again they both held up well.
You really couldnt go wrong with either of these knives and your final choice would come down to personal preference.
For me it would ultimately have to be the Ontario sp10, its greater heft and thicker blade simply gave me a more confident feel.
If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.
