Superb design are these CG's. The only problem now, is trying too pry it out of my Sons hands, as it seems he has become sweet with it. O-well what're dads for ;) . At least I'll know he will have one the toughest/most reliable knives strapped to his hip if needed :D

I love my yardkeeper...it's a really handy knife.

nice... how high did you go with it?
I think I'm just ognna keep with the existing secondary bevel, just convex it.

In the D test Noss mentions that the Scrapyard knives did less well on the cutting tests.
How did you guys find that your knives performed before and after you sharpened them?

I'm debating between a Scrapyard and a Fallkniven to use as a more land-camping knife.

I like the LMFII for it's stainless and the more retentive sheath means that when on ships or canoeing I can just dive in and not worry about it, or use it for extrications or in any survival situation.

I would like a better cutter though, with no serrationse- and the Fallkniven seem to have performed the best in that regard. However the Fallkniven around me are the same price as one of the Scrapyards...

Therein the debate.

Finally in the scrapyard website they advertise a blade made of INFI.... that would make an interesting D test.

338 Stalker: Nice new looking dog you have.

Thecarotidpulse: Fallkniven knives are excellent cutters out of the box. They are very easy to sharpen also.
Without a doubt my A1 is the sharpest fixed blade I own an the easiest to keep sharp.

The website says that the VG-10 is "rust resistant"....

Can that be true?

yes rust resistant but not rust proof.

some SY's have better edges than others, the YKCG has decent edge, but will not be as god as the fallknivens.
it can easily be improved though.
fallkivens are great too, it's up to design at this point.
I think SY's are also extremely easy to sharpen. (though a fallkicen may be easier)

and obviously SY's are not as rusdt resistent.
