Chopped, carved, & batoned this pin oak like it was butter! And still shaving sharp, no knicks or rolls, or dull spots!

Still shaving sharp! That fine edge sinks deep & easy, while that 1/4' spine splits like a dream!
Dirty or clean, it is still sexy!!!

Damn! It seems to bite! I would like to hold one, see how it feels in hand. I'm still very impressed with the finish of the blade.... Really look like an excellent multi-purpose knife.

Thanks Bro!! Handle is a little big, probably not great for small hands. and yes it does bite!! And that Titanium finish is not only pretty, it is tough!. I dug a fire hole yesterday & not a scrath!

Thanks my Brother!
The gun is for when my one year old daughter (Shiloh), gets older & the "boys" want to come around!:thumb:
And the SOG has a Titain (titanium) coating that looks similar to a Blued blade.
Wood have to take a file to scratch it! Advanteges 1. Doesn't wear off & 2. doesn't cause resistance when cutting (like some coatings) Guess they "fuse" the titanium on.;)

Great thread, thanks for posting it. I'm currently debating whether to get that Bowie or their Recon knife.

Carney

The regular bowie or the Super bowie like mine? I think there is an inch or so difference in the blade. Just get both Brother & send me the Recon! I will take care of it! Really I have always wanted that knife!
Much as I like SOG,a little word of warning! There leather sheath are cheaply made! The stitching ususally comes out of the box coming apart, & those razor blades cut deep into them when you insert them.
Answer to problem? My friend Robert @ www.handsewnleather.com, or if you are kydex fan looks like kiahs is the man!! GOD Bless!

That knife is getting a serious workout. Every time I see photos of this knife around the net on forums they are clean meaning most never use them except for show and tell. Great to see some photos of it being used hard.

That finish looks better the more it gets used. Seems to me that a SOG Bowie just looks "right" when it gets heavily used.

I'm still on the fence about getting one. On one hand, I really don't need it. On the other hand, I haven't let that stop me before.

Well, just jump the fence!!! I bought this knife about one month ago, and though I have many knives and many big blades (really made for chopping and outdoor), this knife is just wonderfull : it is more a combat knife than a camp knife, but it is beautifull and still very efficient.

I may do just that. If I get some extra cash I will probably get one.

I was hoping you could give me an idea of about how large the blade is, & about how strong the point is on that one--the Super Bowie. Also, I believe you mentioned the
end-cap came loose or worked loose? Have you ever taken it off to look at the tang &
cut-outs? I'd be curious about that--if it were me. Be interesting. I believe it's called a
'Spanner-nut', yea, the fusion-bowies have those (although, completely different in quality, I'm sure, that Super-Bowe looks incredible!!) Please let me know. Thanks.

Great pictures! Nice job putting it to the test, looks like SOG did a good job on that one. Some people bad rap AUS 8 steel, I find it very serviceable and easy to sharpen.
