I love my GLOCK 30. It's typical GLOCK. Lightweight, very ergonomic, reliable and accurate. This one in .45 Auto has amazing low recoil and I can fire it all day. 10 rd clip in a mini .45 package. Compact power galore!:p

The three-stage trigger safety is also another plus, as you don't have to fumble around trying to find it. All in all I can't find enough good things to say about my GLOCK. I would like to get a 9mm in the future.

Anyone else love their GLOCK as much as I do mine?;)

Hell yes, I love my Glock 23 I carry it everywhere I go. I Would like to get

Sounds like a great gun! About how much do they cost?

I've been looking around at a lot of different guns, I'm hoping to get one for my 16th birthday but price is an issue.

The GLOCK 23 was also on my wish list. I've never fired the .40 caliber round.

You know what, I take that back. I was at a local shooting range and I did fire a few in a GLOCK model that someone there was kind enough to let me try out.

Cannot recall the power as it was only a few rounds. I'm also not sure if it was a 23.

GLOCKs are awesome!

It depends on where you buy one. They are between 500 to 650 They are not the most expensive plastic pistol on the market and not the cheapest. They are first class all the way.

The great thing about them is they have almost become generic. So you can find just about any upgrade and accessory you want for a Glock.

The forty is a nice round. The recoil is not bad at all.

My camera man and I went shooting today BTW. He tried out his new Springfield XD 40
I'm sure he will tell you about it.

Glocks Rock! I have owned a 17 9mm fitted with* Trijicon 3 dot sights. A 27 40cal fitted with Meprlight 3 dot sights and was issued a 22 40 cal factory fitted with a tritium front sight and the standard rear outline sight. None of these pistols have ever has a single problem. Reliable, accurate, they truly are a magnificent piece of engineering. I reckon they are one of the three greatest semi auti hand guns of the 20th century. The other two being the Colt 1911 and the Walther PP/PPK. Glocks are the easiest weapon to train on and use under stress. The brain doesn't need to think about flicking safeties on and off. The 17 9mm fired thousands of rounds without any appreciable wear. The 22 40cal got dragged in and out of a holster for years. was worn externally in all kinds of weather, clunked against all manner of objects and didn't seem to mind. The coating on the slide didn't look like it had been dragged behind a truck liked blued guns do.I'd love to have a play with the Springfield XD/HS2000. One day!!!!!!!

Yeah that is one thing I love about them is they are always ready to fire. No safeties to engage. Draw, aim and fire. I need to get some night sits for mine.

they have no safety?
do they have some kind of saftey on the trigger or something?

I really wanted a springfidld XD in .40 cal (or a glock) so i can't wait to here what he says.
they have alot of safety features which is good for me (since I can't carry one anyway) and I here they shoot really nice.
:D
where has camera man been these days???

They have no manual safeties, unless you count the trigger safety. Technically, they have three "internal" safeties. Beside the trigger safety, they have a striker (firing pin) safety and...I don't know how to explain it, but the "cruciform plate" which is the Glock version of the sear which pulls against the hanging tang of the striker when the trigger is pulled is physically unable to drop until the trigger is pulled. Glock considers this one of their safeties. As with the other two safeties will not allow accidental discharge without the trigger being pulled.

Glock 19 with XS big dot 24/7 sights. Big enough to be a real fighting handgun, small enough to conceal(not that I would EVER....), coupled with the best handgun sights out there. It is extremely tough, accurate, lightweight, reliable, easy to shoot and caveman simple to operate. Nothing comes close as a combat handgun(except for maybe the s&w m&p)

EMF...They do have safeties. No external safety that needs to be manipulated like on a Colt 1911 etc. The only external safety as such on a Glock is a small tab that is part of the trigger. It sits in the middle of the trigger so is activated as the trigger is pulled. It was put there to stop the gun from discharging if the sides of the trigger get caught on a holster or clothing. The glock can only be fired if the trigger is fully depressed. Trigger pressure cocks the weapon and releases the striker.

The XD/HS2000 does have an external safety on the grip tang which is similar to that on the 1911. Some folks may not realise that the Springfield XD is actually a Croatian gun manufactured by IM Metals in Karlovac which was originally named the HS2000. Sprinfield import them and they made a mod by adding a picatinny rail and front slide serrations.

Yeah, you're right Noss. Just like knives, there are many guns out there. I've handled alot too. My Glock is always a constant.

I would like to get a Tan or OD Green one just to change it up a bit.

I like the new forum, Noss. I have been eyeing it since you got it up and running, I just haven't known what to post. As he said, we went and shot our plastic pistols. It was the first time I shot my new Springfield Armory XD40 and I must say I freaking love it. And, shooting with Noss definitely sharpens my peripheral vision and my reactionary time because systematically he takes a potshot in my direction and I have to duck....he says that it's an accident but I have my doubts....I mean, twelve "accidents" with only a couple hundred rounds fired. Hmmmm, something doesn't quite add up.

That being said, I got to fire Noss' Glock 23 40 cal and that might end up being my next big purchase, or maybe a mini Glock. However, I love the trigger of my Springfield. It has a little slack on it that allows you to truly squeeze the trigger rather than jerk it when you fire. Noss' Glock's trigger seemed a little more rigid, but then again he has used it a lot more then my brand new gun. He keeps his accuracy by target practicing at PETA rallies as well as high school marching band practices. I must say, I 've seen him hit a trumpet player running at sixty yards without even batting an eye. So, the practicing has definitely paid off.

Now calm down, he fires a few warning shots in the air first so that he can see them scatter. So I figure he is just weeding out the slower band musicians that don't want to put in the work to stay in shape.

So, that being said, THE EFFIN CAMERAMAN IS IN THE BUILDING!! Let's break some freakin knives....Go ahead and say it, Noss, "let's continue"...

YES!
camerman is here!

I've heard the same thing that you've said camerman, that
XD's do shoot a little nicer/smoother.
which is why I may get one...
although glocks are really tough, reliable, easy to use and easy to get parts for...
so I have to consider which I want.
(I would love to fire them first but I'm not sure that I can)

If you don't like the way a glock feels, m&p's are a much better option than xd's. they even have adjustable grips.

Good point slip. One criticism that has been leveled at Glocks is that the grip may not suit all size hands. The S&W and Walther P99 adress that issue. Though I must admit that after much testing my old organisation replaced the S&W Model 10 with the Glock 22. The Model 10 was an issue weapon but also the Model 36 was issued for those who found it hard for proper trigger reach. The Glock full size seemed to accomodate everyone both male and female of varied stature. I'm talking a purchase of around fifteen thousand Glocks that would see every day carry.

So many choices...so little money.

Love them all. I do however, must say that the XD 45 is about the most accurate, best shooting gun I own. That being said, I wouldn't go out in the woods without my 10mm Glock loaded with Double tap Bear tooth and 180 Gold dots, they sizzle and can bring the pain!

Yeah, I wouldn't be without the 10mm and I am really thinking about getting the compact G-29 when they come out with an SF version (slim frame), it will be my primary carry with 155-165 Golds from Double Tap (Mike McNutt makes some hot stuff that really gets the most out of the 10mm) Cheers!
