Hey, NC speak for Hello. Glad to find Knife Test site and this forum.
May I come aboard captain?
As I said, I'm new to this forum stuff (sad isn't it). I'll learn as I go unless someone knows a good place to go and get "Learned" on it:D:.
I really enjoy your destruction videos Noss. What an awesome idea!

Welcome aboard. I love North Carolina. I lived there for a year outside of Asheville. I spent almost every day stomping through the woods/mountains. It was a great time. I miss it. I did plenty of climbing at devils courthouse and looking glass rock. I hiked up mount Mitchell. Hardest damn hike I ever did.

Good to hear from you Noss. I read a posting that said you were going to tale a break to work on another project. But, it appeared to be dated 2008. So, is that old news and you are back now destroying knives? Hope so.
Yea, NC is a beautiful place to live. Climate is just about perfect. I live near your old stomping grounds. I’m in the Hickory area. It’s about an hour from Asheville and about the same from Boone. We love the Mountains as well. Mount Mitchell is a favorite day trip for my kids and I. Highest point in Eastern United States, pretty cool.
And, thanks Captain for your permission to board.

I took a break for a while. I'm still not producing tests like I was before. I've been busy at work and I have a few other projects I'm working on that aren't knife related. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

I only hiked Mount Mitchell once. It was tough. Lots of wet steep rock we had to climb up. The leader of the group I was with said there was an easier way to the top but everyone voted to take the hard path. It was something else. We didn't make it to the top many in the group gave out. We spent the night in one of the shelters there and went back down in the morning. I was much younger when all this happened.

One of the cool things we did there in NC was climb to the top of the famous lighted giant steel cross. I don't think we were supposed to do that since there was a fence around the base but we did anyways. :D Awesome view though.
