It's a flaw.

Yes they are as strong as advertised.

Good video. I didn't have the chance to watch it earlier. What is wrong with the guards on the trail masters ? What is the flaw ? are they just press/friction fitted or what ?

So you use a NMFBM/Ratmandu couple? I got used to have a 4" or so "small" blade, I would find a 6"1/2 blade too long. For what do you use all this edge lenght? Don't you find it a bit clumsy for some tasks?

(Personnaly, my couple is CGFBM/Roselli Grandfather, who's in fact closer of 3" blade than of 4", but it's very handy and fast, and the zero bevel scandi grind is a marvel when it comes to carving and shaving)

I will be using the RatManDu or the Boss Street with the NMFBM now, either 5 1/2" or 4 1/2" blades. :D

I can see the whole shoot handle? The pin on the handle went out or what!?

Ok. I thought I heard 6"1/2 long blade. My fault. Busses are excellent choppers, but being used to very thin edge for small knives, I would be sceptical using a Boss Street. Maybe it would be possible though to almost regrind it to a zero edge, and that would be great. Sadly I can't afford one for the moment :(.

If I understood well, the pin doesn't go through the blade's tang, or maybe it does but the tang broke at this weak point.

The Tank Buster has the 6.5" blade. :D

I would be sure, is stronger point of the guard, with out that the guard will move easily!

Personnaly I just don't know, I didn't even handled a TM once in my life, but cosidering the fail, this is my diagnostic. Maybe Jankerson and Noss could answer as they own one, but I'm just guessing.

It was just a flaw, they had one shipment of guards that were out of spec so the broke loose.
