I've seen this movie and really loved it. The story of struggle and freedom from capture . The beautiful scenry & 'feel' of hardship, it was well captured in the story. Then this intrigue reasoning made at the end of the movie by a priest or doctor, I can't remember, & Alex Pearce's own confession of why he did what he had to do... It made me shiver with the reality that we are human, we are animals and we will do anything to survive.
Its what effect extreme conditions can have on the mental condition of a person. Personally I think its interesting that a man deported for stealing 6 pairs of shoes could turn to cannibalism, but thats just me. Its not so much about the actual violence, but the conditions that led him to act in such a matter!?
Almost 200 years ago....Can I believe this people could not hunt?

This is Australia movie, the same story line of The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce. Both movie's are tiring and slow.:D
Though this 2 movie they contradicts each other about living animals in the Wildness of Tasmania.
