Hey everyone. I've got a new problem with my Leatherman CS4 multitool that I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix.

I recently sent it back to Leatherman to be repaired under warranty. Some of the tools were jammed shut since the day I got it. They fixed it and sent it back to me with all the tools usable but now one of the colored scales is loose

It looks like it's held on by the two pins that runs through all the tools to either side, and those pins/rivets (or whatever they are) are kind of separated (opened up) on the one that's loose. I think they must have opened them up some to loosen the tools, but went a little too far. I tried squeezing them tighter with a plier, but they didn't budge.

I really don't want to have to go through all the trouble and expense of shipping it back to Leatherman again, and I rather fix it myself if anyone has any ideas.

My CS4 has been driving me crazy since day 1.

Thanks

Do you have a vice ? or know someone who has one ? If so lightly press the pins together until the scales are tight. Be careful not to get them to tight.

thanks, I don't know anyone with a vice, but I just tried using some locking pliers with cardboard taped to them to prevent damage to the Leatherman.

I squeezed as hard as I could with those, which kind of tightened it up, but it's still pretty loose. It's a little better though.

thanks for the advice, if I ever buy a vice I'll try it out since I'm too lazy to send it back to Leatherman.

maybe epoxy glue? or some sort of adhesive?

yeah I don't want to glue it and possibly mess up my warranty. I think I probably will just send it back for repair. Hopefully this time they'll send me a new one since I got a lemon.
