View Full Version : I'm done with knives !!! NO MORE !!
After reading all the critics about using the correct tool for the job. I have finally bowed down to them and am selling my knives. I found some tools that are more appropriate for cutting an spitting firewood when I go out hiking an camping.
Remington electric chain saw 50 bucks. Hell yes no more chopping an sore arms.

Harbor freight 4 ton electric log splitter. 279 bucks Alright beats all that batoning.
http://knifetest.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=145&d=1214982907
one generator to power it all. 289 bucks

618 bucks. Man that is cheaper than a Busse FFBM LE. I would still have money left over for a nice extension cord an a ultra cool gas can !! COOL !!
I'm not sure the generator has enough output to power the log splitter ? I'll let you know when I get back from the field test.
Does anyone know of any good sheath makers for my new setup ?
Thanks to all the critics out there you have showed me the light.

Hey Noss I think you should get the chain saw in blue as well. Ditto if you get the stuff XXO is suggesting. That it would look like a set. If you can't get a sheath maker to do some customs. Maybe you could consider in the waistband carry?
Seems all the mental giants who crap on about the right tool blah blah have the wrong tool between their ears.
Not too bad, man

Wise decision, Noss. We all know that expensive 1/4"+ thick knives should never be used for anything involving any sort of impact or lateral stress. Therefore, your tests are worthless and meaningless. ;) So...when will LogSplitterTests.com be up and running? :D
Soon. I'm working on it now. I will be taking log splitters to their limits. Stay tuned !!

Omg i can not stop fucking laughing at that one, Noss you sure know how to piss your critics off, lol. I just cant wait to see the destruction test on those babies. I wonder what you are going to run them thru. may be you can get some advice over at those other forums.
Did you not know knives are for collecting only how dare you try and use them, and god forbid abuse them. lol

I can already hear the conversation...
"Hey Noss, I got the car bumper and the I-beam you asked me for. So, uhh, what's the deal, is this for a knife test or........a WHAT test????..........NO!! I'm not gonna help you test log splitters, what the fuck?!?!?!!" :D :D

Doesn't seem to me that there are a lot of hyped up log splitters to test. Been doing some research and couldn't find any designated hardcore high speed tactical log splitters. Matter of fact I couldn't even find a jump rated IR resistant drop sheath or anything. Why hell there isn't even a Log Splitter Militia to join.
I'm testing the log splitters hard. Hydraulic fluid is everywhere.:thumb:

Noss, any interest in getting Knife test.com in syndication? I'm surprised you haven't gotten any offers from some of the outdoors shows yet, or perhaps you have? I can easily see Knife Test.com as a permenant segment on outdoor TV show. Of course... You'd need a new fffn camera man! Sorry camera dude... couldn't resist! You do just fine.

I think that would contravene Noss's principles on being "independantly owned and operated".
Also caters to a very select audience.... Last time I went to MEC (mountain equipment coop - big outdoors dealer here but a bit hippie on questions of knife usage) they were still in the "everything you need to do at Camp you can do with a SAK folder" phase.
The sort of people that frown at you if you wear a sheath knife longer than 6 inches...
And hey- don't diss the cameraman: it's not his fault that he has no idea how to work the thing... he's learning! Besides.. of the 2 guys they probably picked Noss coz he was 1) better looking 2) could actually lift the knives being tested.
