I won a Ka Bar Fighter/utility knife with leather sheath on ebay for $30 + $9 shipping. Don't really know that much about Ka Bar knives but figured I'd try it out. I also won a SOG Seal Pup for $40. Just wondering if these are good knives. If anyone has one I would like to hear some feedback. Thanks.

I think you did great. I've got a Kabar and it's a really good knife. Sharpens pretty easy holds an edge and is tough enough for me. SOG makes some nice knives too. I've got a few but not a SEAL pup but I've always heard good things about them. Enjoy!

You did good!!! I am big fan of Kabars. They are an honest knife. No pretentions to being the hardest core blah blah. They work. I've used one as a field knife for years. No complaints. They have been in business for 110 years. Guess there a lot of people that like their stuff. SOGs I have a few. Again a great knife. Mine are older Japanese made so I can't vouch for the newer models. But I suspect the quality would have to fall into their specs. They have a good brand reputation which I'm sure they would like to keep.

Thanks for the replies. I've always wanted to get an SOG, cause my brother had one. And the Ka Bar , I just took a stab at a low bid and won. If the Ka Bar proves to be a decent blade, I may get the Tanto or Camp knife. I do appreciate that they are made in the USA and I try to buy American made when able (mostly if funds permit.)

Well the SOG Seal Pup came in today and I got to say it feels real small in the hand. Kinda like a letter opener. I thought it would be bigger than it is. Other than shanking someone with it don't know what else it is good for. Hopefully the Ka Bar will be more substantial. I guess I could always use my BK 9 in a pinch

LOL! I will keep it for now EMF. I did order two Cold Steel Tantos and a Kukri Machete tonight. That should satisfy my bigger is better blade fetish. I can use these while camping next week to do some chopping and maybe build a ruff shelter for practice.
