View Full Version : Testing Folders
Have you given any thought to testing folders. I for one would like to see your take on how different folders perform under stress.
Yeah I want to test some. I just haven't got to it yet. I may go down to Wal-Mart tonight and get one an test it.

Yeah.. maybe have more cutting tests with the folders... and a screwdriver test! Use as on a stubborn screw since that's what most people end up doing anyway =/

A Buck 110 would be a good place to start. It's not too pricey.

extreme spine whack.
clamp the blade horizontally in the vise and then whack the spine of the grip with the mallet to see if the lock fails.
now i wonder if that should go before or after the body weight test. i also wonder how many blades will fail before their pivots and locks. i dunno which is worse, to be honest.

Noss, I think you migh need one of those mail gloves that they were when cutting beef so you don't loose a finger or 2 when the locks fail.
