I definately prefer the original Demko folder you showed in the other video. I think that big choil on the blade is a bad idea. A handle design allowing the handle choil to be closer to the edge would have been better, in my opinion. Cause there, you have enough room to put five fingers on the front of handle, while you have a very short edge lenght compared to handle length (on the pictures of the other thread, it was obvious: edge lenght is only about 2/3 of handle lenght, and I really think it's a waste of handle length).
I wish it had a flat ground blade.

I do think so. It would be more coherent for a heavy duty folder. Hollow grind takes away matter which would be usefull for lateral strenght, supposedly improving a cutting performance that's no so important for a knife like that (in fact, a well made zero edge flat ground cuts better than a hollow ground with bevel edge).

The choil isn't made into the blade... ;)
The choil is on the handle and the riso is just milled out some, you don't lose any blade length.

The choil is partially on the blade, and the ricasso is rather wide to allow this choil to take place. If there wasn't this front choil, the edge could start almost right from the handle, and you would gain some milimeters of edge length.
I am talking about something like that:

With such a modification, there would be almost 1/2" edge length gain.

Look at the other thread.....
Is not any wider than most knives....
It just looks that way because the handle is radiused out.
