United Cutlery Bushmaster Survival Knife

Honestly I like the look of this Saber knife... with a hand guard... I guess when your aircraft crashes and you have to fight a pirate army =/
Tbh I remember seeing something historical about the Cutlass being the optimal survival blade for the Drake expeditions. (cuts shelter and enemies FTW)
I also like the price of this blade = you can find it on many sites for 30 $...
Steel is 420 J2 stainless - relationship to Gerber LMFII's steel?
Also never saw a test on a 10in stainless blade...

TBH i dont think just looking at it that it would be my primary survival knife: but I could keep this sort of thing in my car. (or at my belt, going to a Busse convention- for the sword look)

I have been trying to get Noss to test the MOD for awhile.
Its 1/4 thick 1095 carbon steel that is phosphate COATED.
Should be tough.

The United is a gimmicky POS novelty.
I doubt it would do well since it has a hollow handle and a short tang that is attactched with a bolt.
The steel used(420 j2) is also terrible.

The steel on the LMF was 12c27.
Some compair it to 440b but say it holds and takes an edge better because it has no sulphur(a impurity).
It is very chip resistant and I think of it as a stainless 1095(easy to sharpen and very tough).
