I love my Springfield Armory XD9SC. Works like a champ, FMJ rounds are pretty cheap (CorBon DPX for PD), pretty accurate, feels great in the hand, and priced very nicely with Trijicon sites.

Springfields KICK ASS!!!!
I definitely love my XD40. Noss and I hit the range again this weekend and fired my XD and his Glock 23. He got some video footage that he says he's gonna edit so that it looks like I can't pull the trigger on his Glock. He just can't handle the fact that the Springfields are just such a higher caliber (no pun intended) of weapon compared to the Glocks. I try to assure him that some day he'll be blessed with the amazing work of art that is the XD, but it is little consolation for him. He's really broken up about it :D.
While we were there at the gun store/range, I got to hold both the Glock 27 (40 caliber "baby Glock") and the XD subcompact (also a 40 cal), and I've made up my mind to stay with the Springfields . The 3 inch subcompact felt so good in my hand, and not only does it come with a standard clip, but an extended clip is included for free, and all for less then the price of the Glock. I was up in the air about which gun I was gonna buy (I want some fire power with me when I travel for my job), but I am pretty certain that the XD is the way to go.
HOLD ON FOR A SECOND!!!...take your hands off the keyboard.....that's it, sloooooooowly. Hold on, and listen....
Now, I am not trying to stir up a bunch of bullshit with Glock owners because I know for a fact that we have more then a few here...but, I am just saying that anyone who hasn't held or fired a XD, you gotta check em out. There is something so comfortable and familiar about them. I still feel like I want to own a Glock, so who knows, I might end up buying the Glock 27 or 23 when I get my concealed license because they are a little smaller...but I will buy another Springfield first--the subcompact, definitely. Gotta go with my gut, ya know?
DUCK!!! THE EFFING CAMERAMAN'S GOTTA GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D

Depends on what type of shooting you want to do. If you want a gun thats fun to plink with at the range, then xd's are a pretty good choice.

The Glocks are nice guns. I really wanted one, but the grip/handle is too big, and just did not feel right. So I went with the XD, knew right away this gun was for me. Still, I'm telling ya checkout the new XDm. This gun is freaky.

I own 6 Glocks. They are great guns, reliable, accurate , etc. I own 2 XD .45 and keep one next to the bed for protection. The XD is what I feel very comfortable with. You can not go wrong with either the Glock or XD, they are simply excellent all around handguns.

The new XDm 9mm has a 19 round clip!!! I prefer 40 or 45 but damn, 19+1 is awesome!!
check it out:

That being said, I just bought my first Glock. I got the 40 caliber "baby Glock", the model 27 for a concealed carry. I haven't fired it yet. However, me, Noss, and a couple of my coworkers went to the range this past Saturday and shot my XD, Noss' Glock 23, and a coworker brought a piece of crap Smith and Wesson. No, I don't think ALL Smith and Wesson are pieces of crap, but I am not a fan of the Sigmas.
this is what he brought:
http://www.academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/outdoors/hunting/firearms/pistols_centerfire&start=18&selectedSKU=0357-03425-0023
I brought 500 rounds of 40 caliber rounds and figured we would shred some targets.
AND, I couldn't freaking believe it, MY SPRINGFIELD JAMMED.........TWICE!!!!! Not when I shot it and not when Noss shot it, when my coworker shot it.
One clip.
Thirteen rounds.
Jammed.
TWIIIIIIIICE!!!
Ofcourse, Noss was freaking elated. Laughed hysterically, and felt the need to point it out to me when it happened---despite the fact that I was on the other firing line shooting another gun at the time. I was halfway through a clip when I heard Noss' evil laugh from the other lane---HEHHH EHHH EHH EHHH EHHH.
So, you can imagine what Noss' favorite topic of conversation was for the rest of the freakin day :headbang:
I bought the Glock later that very night. Not because my Springfield jammed but because its a little thinner then the subcompact XD. But, I stand by my Springfields!! I have two of them. I love them both. I have my 40 caliber that I fire at the range. I have a 45 that I keep next to me by the bed. And sooner rather then later, I am probably gonna get the subcompact 40 caliber just because it really want it and I am confident that it is a badass gun.
So, Noss, laugh it up, you bastard :D

It might just need some cleaning. Usually the safety grip is not depressed right, but then it would not fire. Lucky it was at the range, not in a do or die situation. Blame it on the new guy, lol

I always clean it after every use at the range. Maybe it wasn't clean enough, but I have another theory: The XD, familiar with being wielded by an exceptional user like myself, refused to perform for the unworthy, unsteady grip of a shooter of far lesser quality :D

I have an XD40 service model. It's a joy to shoot. Like other striker semi-autos it basically shoots like a revolver only it is magazine fed. There is a forum devoted to the HS2000 and the Springfield import. Very busy forum. I just checked over there and 474 people are on that board at the time of this post.

EDIT: Cameraman, you may be cleaning it too much:). Outside of wiping down the exterior with WD40 I have only cleaned mine once and I've had it a couple of years at least. Could have just been a couple of bad shells in the batch. Maybe your coworker wasn't holding down the handle safety enough causing a half-cocked predicament.

Yeah, but how many rounds have gone thru it? I hear after every 500 rounds it should be cleaned.
His 40 was clean during the shoot. We will never know for sure what happened but he solved his problem when he finally bought a Glock. :thumb::D

I would guess I had at least that much through it before I field stripped and cleaned. It didn't even look like it really needed it either. Rather, it looked like I could have kept on shooting it.

What you witnessed was just a phenomenon. Sort of like the aliens crashing in Roswell.
Well the aliens landed twice the other day and I was there.:D

I personally don't like all those ridges and grooves on the XD, feels uncomfortable to me and I can't imagine how it feels when shooting.
Give me 1911 or give me death.
I have my compact frame cold deffender 2 but I really want a full size frame like this one.

The XD is very conformable to shoot. It's a very good weapon.

Well, I increased my little handgun arsenal on Friday. Noss lent out his camera so I don't have any pics, but here is the link for my new 1911.
http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_pistol.php?id=55
For the record, I only went to look...really! I had no intention of buying anything. There was another Para Ordnance 1911 that I was just checking out, but they had just gotten the Big Hawg in that afternoon, and it was only ten dollars more then the 7+1 model that I went to check out. But, this 1911 is so badass. It has a 14 + 1 double-stacked magazine. Noss and I went and shot it on Saturday along with my new Glock 27 and both of em performed awesome. I am really happy with both my new pistols... but I will be staying out of gun stores for a while because I obviously have no self control and can not be trusted to just window shop. I'll get some pics up when Noss reclaims his camera from his friend.
