Many options exist: there are MOLLE attachments (for those of us in the army I guess)
there are straps so it can be worn on your calf, good aspect: it's out of the way- bad side is that it gets hit on rocks and such hiking in tight corners and it weighs you down while swimming
you can wear it on your belt with a thigh strap- My girlfriend's thigh is thin enough to fit in that strap- I dont know any self respecting guy that could though.
It rubs and it's uncomfortable. However it does stop the heavy knife from wagging and does also allow it to be drawn from the tight sheath assembly without having to do some sort of thumb action. Any ideas?
Wearing it on the waist without the thigh strap: it wags, sticks out, and the knife is hard to get out of the sheath.
About the recurring problem of the 2 snaps being too tight: i found that by leaving them snapped in place the webbing stretched.
About the 2nd strap closest to the sheath being unnecessary and getting in the way of the knife as it's going back in the sheath. My solution, buckle the snap in reverse: inside the belt loop.
I'm going camping this weekend... If i remember to bring a camera you may have some pictures!
