Noss,

I'm really interested in how the "unbreakable" handles compare to the wood handles on the Gransfor Bruks that you used.

I'm thinking of getting a camp Axe from Gerber.

I've heard many good things about these Axes, just a little unsure of the handles. I do like them because the handles are extremely light weight.

Thanks,

Sharp

I would to see just how tough they are compared to the Gransfors Brukes. There is a photo out there of one with a broken handle. that was beat on during wood splitting.

I don't know where I saw the photo. I think it was on blade forums ?

Hmm, Do you guys have a link?

I, too, would be interested to see how the Gerber Axe compares to the Gransfor Bruks in performance and toughness.

I knew you were going to ask this:D All I remember is I think it was in the wilderness and survival forum on BF. It was a long time ago when I saw it. It was a full size axe and not a hatchet. Sorry I can't be more specific. :(

Of course I would ask for a link. :D Always good to see "unbreakable" break. :D

From the chop out that you did with the Back Pack Axe, I think the Gerber Sports axe should fair well against the Bruks. I think both would probably chop very similar. The Gerber might be easier to use because of the lighter handles, though.

Thanks Noss,

From reading those, now I really want to see a destruction test.

There is a lot of mix feelings on the axes in both of those threads. Many say they're awesome, other's say there not that great.

I think I might just purchase one to see for myself. 45 bucks aint' gonna kill me. :D

They are not bad for the money. I will tell You the Gransfors wildlife hatchet will out chop it but it also cost much more.
