I find some people absolutely prefer tip up carry, and some just dont care. I have to say I prefer tip up. I know it is impossible with some design's but have you ever, not purchased a knife for this reason? Lets hear your take.
The only folder I have with a clip is a Spyderco Endura. It is setup for tip up carry. I can't change it but I would not want to anyways. Tip up for me also. :thumb:

I kinda prefer tip up, but I don't mind tip down. Either way, it doesn't affect whether I buy a particular knife or not. :thumb:
edit: One thing I do like is that we're seeing more folders now coming drilled and tapped in four spots, so the buyer can decide whether to carry tip up, tip down, and left-handed or right-handed. I hope more knives starts implementing this.

i hate pocket clips so IDC =D
hurts the hand what can I say....
btw i'll add pics of this weekend but i tried free hand convexing the Gerber LMF II on a stone.... i think i may not have done too good a job lol...
I didnt have sandpaper... so yeah. I convexed it all right...
tbh, the edge pops hairs with difficulty - it's just a thick blade that behaves like a thick blade. no matter what edge i put on it it won't shave well and it won't cut paper. I may just let it be a regular knife and do it's knife thing and get a razor and cissors...
Or i may try again

My ZT0200 is tip down, it does not matter to me one way or the other.

On manual knives I prefer tip up, on AO knives witha flipper, I prefer tip down.

Although it matters very little to me, I actually prefer tip down because most of my knives are tip down and I can deploy them faster then the ones that are tip up. However if I like a knife, I don't worry about the clip.

Depends on the knife.
For larger knives I prefer tip down. For smaller knives, especially those with an index finger flipper, tip up can be more convenient.

Right hip, TIP DOWN.
ATM my Strider MFS has the job, been good so far. Soon my S6 with kydex sheath will replace it. Will see how it gels on hip, & under a few slides & falls. Then I want too give an E/R RAO a go. ATM I'm playing with a few ideas on what works on the hip(deer stalking/steep country) & what works on the game(boning-out/skinning). Should find a good 2-3 knife combo in time.
Will carry all tip down, except my RAO. That will be left in folded position. That way it's near impossible for me to get spiked, even under nasty falls.

for me, tip up is better.
when I pull the knife out of my pocket it's already how I hold it, I just open it.
with tip down I have to flip it around.
