I thought the first vid was pretty good. The end product looked fairly close to the original. Not sure of the steel he was using. Probably a leaf spring.

An angle grinder is a wonderful tool for cutting out blanks and shaping a lot of the bevel if your hands are steady enough for it. I didn't see his heat treating, but I assume he did it, since he knew enough to build a forge.

The second guy looked like a John Locke wannabe.

The first video is cool. The Rambo 4 knife is ugly compared to the other ones but it looks like a good chopper.

I say you should test one. Hibben was selling them for $1250. They're sold out, but you should be able to find one on the secondary market for around $2000. Of course if you wanna save a little cash, I could just pull the one off my lawnmower and ship it to you. :D
