batonning

i have been collecting knives for many years, but am wondering if it would damage a partially serrated knife if you batonned it into a piece of wood. i have a ka-bar partially serrated knife and was wondering if the serrations would be damaged or rolled.

I have a kabar fighter partially serrated and we've batoned it through some pretty nasty stuff (nails etc) and the serrations have held up fine.
if they do roll, it's really no big deal.
