Hello,

Hello.

The Mod A8 sounds really interesting.

I remember that there is another maker that uses the exact same stuff with a triple tempering and is some quality steel. It is very close to performance of INFI, no joke.

No, is another A8 modified, not the same of the Nexus.

I say that the A8 modified of Nexus, produced by a german factory of special steel, is not used in the industrial and custom cutlery (like INFI).

It's due also to the formats of this steel. To produce some knives yuo have to cut a "slice" of steel from the block.

But industrail saw can't cut slice more thin than 12 mm, and you have to "grind" the slice of steel to 12 at 7 or 6 mm (the thikness of Cao and Nexus Tito).

This operations cost time and money.

But A8, for his composition, have a hight toughness.

A8 modified of Nexus have more alloing elements that form carbide than conventional A8 and mantain hight toughness (165 J at 59 Hrc, 169 J at 60 Hrc, 170 J at 58 Hrc, mesured with Charpy C Notch).

There are many A8 modified. Chipper - Viking is the most famous.
