Wow wee. Nice test Noss. Pretty tough blade there. looks nice and light with a good sheath. Nice option to the ka bar military knives. Great for the price. i kept waiting for it to break on the sheet metal then concrete. impressed. Thanks for a great test. We will be watching for more. Awesome :thumb:
Not too bad, man

Awesome test. I read somewhere that the stuff the handle and sheath are made of is the same as the stuff on the pistols. Does anyone know if that is true? Also, a test on the little tab on the sheath that clicks into the knife would be cool. I wonder how those hold up.

I think the polymer is the same as the pistols. The tab on the sheath isn't gonna fail because it is really rigid and the knife doesn't really weigh very much. We did strip the handle down to expose the tang and it was a beyotch. After hitting the handle with the steel mallet, Noss ended up using his bandsaw just the get the handle to open up. The tang consists of two solid metal pieces interrupted with a plastic tube about an inch long. I was really impressed with the knife. Obviously you're not gonna go chopping too much with it, but for a secondary knife for camping, I think that it is a great choice. And, it only costs 30 bucks. I'm sold on the Glock field knife....I just wish Springfield Armory made one because I am pretty sure it would be better.............much, MUCH BETTER :D

Ah, but if Ruger made one we could get the same performance at half the price. (ducks and covers)

SWEET!!!! and
THANK YOU NOSS AND THE EFFING CAMERAMAN!!!! :D
Thecarotidpulse: I used my Tormek copy machine to sharpen it.
Not too bad, man: Yeah I'll see about destroying the sheath for you. :D It seems very tough.
ktomes_340: Here are some photos of the handle broken down.
The handle was hard to tear apart. It's some tough stuff. :thumb:

Thanks Noss, now there's another knife I have to get! You and the Effing Cameraman forgot to mention that the hook on the guard can be used to open beer bottles (a must when your camping.) Thanks again for the tests.

Nice test as always! Inpressive knife and handle.:thumb:
This knife has been made for combat more than camping but is nice to know the strength.
At least we know that is more tough than a Mora
Thanks Noss:D
Thanks men. Your welcome.

great test men, as usual. It is a very tough knife, though it is designed like a dagger. A shame the grind needs to be re-shaped to get a good edge.

The Rc looks pretty tuff to me, I'm thinking 5-6 :)
Sure do appreciate the quality of the information your tests provide noss!

Noss, as far as the sawteeth being potential stress risers, did the blade snap in line with any of the sawteeth or in between them? If you get a chance to test the version without sawteeth, I'd be interested to see if it would do better.
Great test, as always! Thanks again to you and the Effin Cameraman.:cool:

Awesome test! Thanks Noss and Cameraman!
G. Scott H. It has a diagonal break across the top of the saw teeth. It's a little hard to see exacly were on the teeth the break is because they were flattened out by the hammer.
I'll see about getting the no saw model for a later test.
Gman1128: Your welcome.

Another awsome test men. I'm impressed with the knife. Even over here in Australia they are quite cheap. I'll have to get one to add to my collection. I've always been impressed with Glock pistols and it seems the knife is worthy of the Glock name. No bull reliable functionality.
Hey Noss, thx for the test !
What a treat, and i loved the video
I am also impressed by the tip tests cause I thought it would brake. Although I saw it thrown, so that might be a hint for the tips strenght. It is also on knife throwing sites as an alternative throwing knife.
The sheath I really love it is said to be used by seals too. Pity it failed the body test I was hoping to see it through to the metal bar :) and flex/tork test.
Great to know that the saw theeth can stand the impact of hammering. Im also very curious how the sheath keeps up in the test.
Well thx again i`m glad I can compare it now to the other knives tested on your site.
I`m pondering about which knife is going to be on my whish list to be coupled up with my Glock. As an owner I can say i like it very much. and apreciate its simplicity on sheath and handle. as well as it slim look of the blade.
Here is a another nice Glock review on you tube : Glock review

Based on the video above I would also add that the Glock is more reminiscent of the Camillus (and others) WWII MK III trench knife.

Maybe i missed the info,......but was the tang,.....Full tang ?
db: No. It's a half tang but it's in there good. It took some work on the band saw to get to it.

O_o I never knew the Glock knife had a handle compartiment! That's a great idea they had at Glock. Not bad neither is to file or sand a bit the retaining notch. But I reground mine completely to have a decent edge, not a kind of beveled prybar. So now mine is convex and shninny. By the way, this guy have good taste for knives: cheap and efficient (Glock knife, Victorinox, and Opinel).
That thing in the grip might be for a bayonet adapter of some sort.

That thing in the grip might be for a bayonet adapter of some sort.
Might be. But most bayonets have a ring on the guard, and it's not to decorate. FAMAS, M4, G36, and most AK47 bayonets have a ring, this mean all major armies and fighting forces could not use the Glock knife as a bayonet, or at least not with this guard (but maybe it's only a civilian version?).
The Glock knives are based on the M77 bayonet for the AUG rifle....it seems like the Austrians decided to issue trench knife versions instead of the bayonet.....sort of like the US M3.
I guess I missed this. I knew it was hollow I just didn't think of using it for storing any gear. Good info.
Some comparison on Glock knife vs AES West Germany made knife.
AES Solingen West Germany
Not bad. I may have to try one of those Germans out.

I used to have that AES W-German mil. knife.(many years ago ,before Harry Potter was to be found in the cinema).
I liked it ,as i like my Glock 78 also.
It's handle is heavier than the Glock handle.the plastic/Nylon(Glass reinfirced i assume) is harder also.
But if it is tougher than that tough as nails Glock..
No idea.
It would be an interesting test indeed.
An Eickhorn Km2000 or 3000 would also be nice to see it tested..
I like the grip of these knives a lot and them being relatively lightweight.I never weighed them,
but they do feel like not much weight ..

Cool video
Thank you for showing :thumb:
I appreciate the strength of the Glock knife very much.
Like the Mora and others, good knives don't have to be expensive.
The guy is pretty good. :thumb:
