Well it's happened again  , another Strider coming my way. I know, I said I would lay off the knives for a little while. The thing is, these Striders are just so addictive. And when this WPDP came up, I thought jump on it whilst I still can.
I don't have my pic's ATM, but this pic is not too bad for starters. Although it doesn't really do the lines on the WP(drop point) any justice.
No jimping. Cant win them all. But it's well thick enough for secure index-finger grip, & I do rather like the feel Striders give with their heat treatment/coated steel. IMO it gives allot better index-finger grip than the satin blades I own. Just like MFS, I'm sure it'll work great here.
I also think this WP drop point blade/design should work very well in my chosen work. Especially now I'm a big believer in Striders S30V steel.
The cord wrap idea suits me well, I love it! It's gives great purchase, even with blooded/wet hands, & it's a simple straight forward proven design. It washers clean out in the river. Dry it in front of the fire, & she's as good as new. Minus a few jiblets here & there ;) .
I see no signs of rust, not even on the edge. If it's going to show signs(when left) of rust, this will be the first place one will notice it. The Strider coating seems tough & hardy with the S30V combo. I will stick my neck out & say that the S30V under the wrap will never give me trouble, in my life time or the next.
The shape/lines, being a drop point will be ideal for a variety of hunting needs IMO. I can already predict that this knife will be a sort of "jack of all trades" blade. Be it dropping the guts, skinning & boning-out. But we'll see I guess.
And it certainly could baton the odd bit of wood or two, if needed for a emergency fire or shelter. My MFS with it's S30V is well up to this task!
But I will leave those survival tests to you men more in the know. I'll just concentrate on the hunting side of things I think :thumb:
I thought long & hard about this knife before taking the plunge. And like I said in my other threads. I do not get the luxury of trying/handling before buying, so allot of my knife purchases are though pictures, reviews & my thoughts. I think I did well, we'll see soon.

PS-Heading out in the next few days with a bit of luck. So the SnG, YKLE will get some action I'm hoping.
I will leave the S6 out, as I feel it's really pointless testing this knife. As Noss did more than enough, plus it's not my first choice of deer knives. Sure it will do it, it's just, why even bother when I have better/smaller blades for the task.
I only take the S6 when I venture right into the back country. This is where the S6 has it's place for me ;)
And I have decided I will leave the Busse GW out as well. Due to no sheath ATM. But I have plenty of time to test them all, given time :D
