A much under rated stone. I just got one a few weeks ago from the local woodworking shop. It cuts fast, and I havent had the trouble I had with the old water stone of the blade gouging the surface. It seems a little harder than the 800 grit I had before. Hair shaving edges off the 1000 grit side, but I add the medium and fine Spyderco triangles, followed by a quick (10 passes or so) strop on some 0.3 micron honing film. I tried a leather strop, but that didnt seem to work all that well.

I didn't know good stones could be that inexpensive. I spent $15 on a stone I though was good, but didn't do anything other that annoy me.
