That is a gorgeous dagger. I would stab a Nazi in the kidney with that any day.
Beautiful.

I saw a Wehrmacht Ehredolch (honor dagger) at the weapon dealer, and they ask €600 for it!!!:headbang::eek:
Anyway, some guy who literally sat on (i.e. found) an original Fairbairn Sykes in the forest:rockon: but he's rather dispointed cause he couldn't afford this beauty:mad:

It was intended for Specical Operation troops, i.e. commandoes to take out sentry smoothly and silently.
This design is still in service in the Belgian Commando Corps, although it is generally phased out by Applegate/Fairbairn and other designs.
PS I was rather suprised to see this thread dusted up, especially when I haven't felt this blade in my hands for almost one year!!! (my collection is at home in holland, and me in china)

You are now! I'm now a member!
I promised my wife that when I turned 60 years of age I would stop self-censoring my speech. Her question was, "When did you ever use tact?"
Not to hijack, back to the thread, I own quite a few knives. The better question is how many do I actually use. My guess would be four, perhaps five.
An Emerson CQC-16
A Spyderco Native (the cheap one with an S30V blade)
A Graham Brothers SS3
A Graham Brothers Stubby
(I have used my Strider SnG, but not really enough to count it.)
In reality that could be three, and the Strider was only carried a few months, at best. The Native came from the supplier in such poor shape that I decided not to sell it to a client. I had to re-profile the entire edge. At a glance it looks okay. I still have some fine polishing to do on it over its lifetime.
Edit: Here's the Native. About half an inch down from the tip is the remaining factory grind line error. At the heel the back 1/4 inch does not smoothly form a bevel. Perhaps two or three light buffings are needed, but I hate to waste metal. it works fine as an EDC.

As an update, I just ordered a Boker mini Pry-Mate and a Zero Tolerance 0302 from my supplier. Both are currently B/O, so I have a month to find the money.
Like always, my new knives start out as mules, and I have some concerns on these models. Worst case, some client gets a slightly marred knife with a razor sharp blade.
I am looking forward to the Boker. I find my Graham Brothers Stubby useful, in fact I almost bought a second one with the ring. Not that I need any excuses when it comes to toys.
I always carry some form of a three to four inch folder, but more and more my knives are getting smaller. I have a Vox necker on B/O as well.
I don't hunt anymore and suggestions of knife fighting are for kids living in their mom's basement. My day comprises UPS boxes, trimming loose threads from laundry and having a decent knife for restaurants.
I think this trend of having 1.5 to 2-inch knives, but made sturdy, is a very good idea.
