my dream knife is CS Laredo.

i just rehandled a laredo bowie for a customer. it had the coffin style handle which he didnt like. it has a short tang with a wire extension that has a threaded rod on the end of it. the knife wasnt that bad but the tang has little to be desired. the customer had me put micarta on instead which was a big improvement and made the handle more rigid.

Any of the Busse's over the $200 threshold. A Joe Kious sub-hilt fighter. Any knife by Charles Marlowe.

Dwight McLemore has a couple of excellent books on the history of the bowie knife. The original bowie knife, before it's current known and acknowledged incarnation, was a basically a butcher knife. I have looked at the current knives discussed and available in that configuration. I found that the Cold Steel Long Hunter and Ontario Old Hickory fits the bill. Does anybody recommend other examples of such knives that are reliable and durable in such a configuration? Just curious.

This should be pretty easy for me. Alvin Johnson M2, hollow ground, 4" blade, 1/16" spine, pocket clip, stainless handled balisong. Not tough, but slicing goodness and edge holding at its best, in my favorite one handed configuration. Ok, maybe Ti handles.
