Does anyone here have the fixed blade field knife by Savage arms? It looks like it would make a great go to hunting knife with some camping abilities crafted in! I hesitate to purchase this knife even though it is priced dirt cheap for a Seki City blade due to the fact that when looking at enlarged photos of the knife it does not appear to have a tang! There is an hex screw where the bolster would be and this leads me to believe thats about as far as the tang goes and if this is the case i would be better off without it. If anyone here owns one or knows of someone that does please let me know if it is a full tang blade. Thanks, Scott

From the first impression I get from this Frankenstein's creation, dare I say it's meant to do every jobs, but will perform poorly in all? It simply wants too much and by putting all those features on one blade.
For skinny, there is not enough belly and thanks to the saw on the backspine, the primary bevel doesn't go deep enough, while the serrations occupy the end of the blade, which means fine carving is out of question. The angle of the guthook is ok I guess, but since their efford to reinforce it, I doubt it would go thru any hide. And the tip ain't accute enough or stubby enough - this blade just doesn't have the idea what it wants to be.
Just my 2c.

If rambo had a hunting knife......
Looks kind of gimicy....could do without the sawback, serrations and gut hook, or at least offer a version without these.
Would be interested to see how it does in a field test.
