I've only seen Part 1 of this test as it's all I've had time for at the moment.

I have to say Noss, you are one dedicated man. Freakin' crazy test man!

Yeah it's a long one. It took a lot of work to put together. Over 1 year. I'm just glad to finish it.

Wow! An entire year? I had no idea that much time was involved with the test.

I'll definitely set some time aside and watch it in it's entirety.;)

Yep.. it also put me in the hospital for four days. When I fell in the tank during a repair:eek:. Not fun :(

Sorry to hear that, glad you are okay now though. Like you said , you learning something new with every test.

It was just too bad you had to get injured.:(

Noss. I watched Part 2 today. Every move you make underwater has an effect on your balance.

I was amazed at how you were able to keep your composure through it all. Do you have a lot of diving experience?

It is hard much harder to work underwater then on the surface. You have to use your body arms and legs different then on the surface so it took some getting use to the first time we shot. I was all over the place the first time. I got better dealing with it as we progressed.

I have been diving about 10 plus years. I'm very comfortable underwater. I have done a lot of wreck diving. It's my favorite thing to do is go in the boats and ships. It's even better at night.

Wreck diving sounds like a lot of fun, I would love to do that, just maybe not at night!

Night diving is the best. You see all kinds of life you don't see during the day.

EMF: That is what make it fun.:D

If I had the time and money to buy equipment I would definitely like to try it out someday.

The wreck diving sounds like a blast. Have you ever found any treasure?

Once you try it you will be hooked. It's just a total blast.

amen74: No. I never found anything of value down there. Just plenty of garbage.

This test was a lot of fun to film, Noss. That water was freeking cold!!! I remember getting ready to jump in, dipping my foot in the water and thinking, $hit!! Now that's it's hotter then hell out, that tank looks more and more inviting. I kinda wish we had more underwater tests to film, ya know?

I just watched this a week ago. The lengths that you went to in order to conduct this test is absolutely amazing. After watching this, its impossibly hard to find a reason why anybody would beat up Noss for conducting these tests in a biased way. Clearly, he has a healthy obsession in testing this category of knife that has been so beneficial to the rest of us.

Man you have no idea how much trouble this was to put together.

a quick run through

1 year in the making. I had to build everything for this test.
over 6 grand to test a 100 dollar knife.
4 days in the hospital ( 4 broken ribs, 2 broken back bones, one punctured lung.) Six weeks of recovery.
Everything that could go wrong did over and over again.
Wanted to toss in the towel about 1000 times (serious) but kept going.
After all of this Film/test day. FINALLY !!
Took two days to shoot in freezing water but Cameraman and I pulled it off.
Oh man What a ride it was !!!

The thing that really worried me was the knife would fail quick after all of this but the SOG Seal 2000 took a pounding under the water and didn't let us down. :thumb:

How did you get hurt? I had a punctured lung once and it was NOT FUN. The lung collapsed and I spent a little over a week in the hospital. But 4 broken ribs and 2 broken back bones in addition? Ow.

Anyway, if it gets hot out and you guys want to do this again, there's plenty of knives the SEALS supposedly use. Mission Knives comes to mind along with others.:D

The tank broke and I was repairing it. I was climbing out of the tank on a ladder. I stepped off on to the top platform and my foot slipped out from under me and I fell 8 feet
to the bottom of the tank on my back.
