Prepare for rant,

No one has posted on this, but I really want to see a D test one of the Dark Ops fixed blades and one of the Folders. With all the BS that's been going on for the past year or so from idiots who don't do their research and who are just plain stupid, I really would like Noss to set the bench straight.

I'm tired of people saying their ripoffs when their designs have had clear input from people around the world. When the truth behind the matter is that the owner had rights to Extrema Ratio. This and various other facts. Yea, their advertising is stupid, but for the guys in the sandbox, it must give some inspiration (as racist and totally politically incorrect as it is) For god sake, they sponsor the U.S. National SWAT Championship. And man, do these folks do some insane stuff.

If this small hated company sponsors a legit and large SWAT contest, with other well respected companies like Glock, Eagle Industries, 5.11 Tactical, there stuff has to have some virtue.

Effing Eotech sponsors the contest, too. And I'm sure you all know Eotechs famous red-dot sights.

*rant off*

Mainly, I just want see the folder. It would be quite sweet to have one. I mean, this knife is the first folding pry bar on the market. Who the hell wouldn't want one of those? :D

Thanks,

Sharp

Rant On Brother! (can't get the smiley crap to work) Where might these detractors lurk?

Cold Steel hype there knives. But they are good knives. Dark Ops hype there knives and so do most others. I for one like the look of their knives. I don't own one but have been meaning to get one for ages. Sponsoring 'good guys' always hits a soft spot so when cash is a bit more fluid I think i will invest in one. Like Ranger Knives, Dark Ops seem to have bona fide good guys on board. Not some hero worshipped less than one year service AWOL pretenders.

I've always been amazed at the scorn and hatred that gets thrown around when it comes to knives. I reckon the main screamers are nothing more than arm chair warriors. Many rave on about their high speed hard core credentials. Credentials that they most likely earned watching a lot of television and saving the world on play station. If you don't like a knife, don't buy it!

Aint these forums the best. No morons lurking.

I AGREE!
you can't bash a knife/knife company when you don't know what it can do!

Tac: these detractors lurk on every knife forum conceivable to man. BF, JD, KF, to a acronym a few.

The funny thing about these advertisements is that they really do reflect the feeling of the majority of people in the United States towards the middle east. It just seems these "detractors", as you have described, have just seem to realize their true feeling towards the middle east: They love the place. :D

I honestly have no idea why DO does their advertisement as they do, but I believe it must have something to do for inspiration in the sandbox. Wars are not a time to lose face. However, it is true the due to 9/11 the majority of people do had others of Middle Easter Origin. It's stupid for them to say they won't buy the knife due to faulty advertisement, as DO's advertisement is their own opinion. As you have correctly stated: "morons". Freaking Morons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no one on here of course :D )

EMF

True, I believe Noss said that during the Machete test. :D

I agree. I'm fine with flaming companies if they deserve it, but NO ONE HAS EVER DONE A REAL TEST OF THE DARK OPS KNIVES! this is one dispute that must be put to rest. Noss: you're the man to do it

I had one on order a while back. I never head anything about it and I forgot about it over time. I want to test on for sure. No one had them in stock at the time I ordered.

Hey Noss, did you check with Knifeworks.

They are showing them on their site.

EMF: I know. People trash them for reasons that don't seem to be about the knife itself.

Macgregor: Welcome to the new forum. No I haven't checked there or any where lately. I'll check thanks.

I don't know. "The Black Raven" might do well if the steel and HT are up to it (What the heck is CTV2 anyway?). Something like "The Interceptor" though, I can't see making it. It just has too many stress points.

(What the heck is CTV2 anyway?).

It is rumored to be AUS-8a.

Problem with CTV2 being AUS-8 is that AUS-8A is missing both Cobalt and Tungsten which DO claims the steel to have.

I'm going to test the Raven. It looks like the best model for a torture test. Since there is so much flack about them I'm choosing the toughest looking model.

They do look nice in the photos. I have never seen one in person.

Hmmm... it should be really interesting. If it gets a higher rating than the Ranger, I'm sure we WILL need to fortify the Destruction Zone with my suggestion of 50 of everything, including some cobalt bombs. :D

We all know sharp wants to see it tested because he wants an excuse to buy one. :D

A test of a ER would also be cool since DO is like the illegimate love child of ER and a mall ninja.
