I was reading about the request to test a Bark River Bravo 1 knife. I noticed that it is made of A2 and constructed very similarly to the first old Busse knives in design. They were made of A2 also. The Bravo 1 is much more refined though. My curiosity is how does the Bravo 1 stack up to one of the old Busse knives? Did the first Busse A2 knives not predate the Bravo 1? Just curious.

I don't know much about those specific knives you mention, but in my own experiences A2 is a great knife steel that i've had very positive experiences with.

If tempered right it is a great steel. The problem with A2 is that it is a tool steel and has a tendency to chip if not tempered properly.
