OK I am new to the forums here and found it by accident.

First of all NOSS .. truely amazing work. I own a SOFCK which is a knife that is made by Emerson undercontract for Extreme Outfitters. I love it. Has the same operation as CQC-8. Very functional folding knife. I am getting together what I call a GOD bag (stands for G et O utta D odge) So I am looking for a straight knife I can attach to a Load bearing vest in the upside down positon. It needs to be a functional survival/fighting knife.

1. I can't find the info but what knives actually made it through a complete test of Noss's . Not many from what I have seen... wanted the Ka-Bar D2 just not sure now...

2. What knife would you use.....buy or want.

3. I know you guys who are regulars know the knives by name but Manufacturers... If you are a knife newb like me:D then you need more info.

Maybe a sticky of some of the good manufactures and separate them by straight and folding.

Welcome on board, I see certain merit in your suggestion, which is up to Noss.

I'm a proud Emerson abuser :D

Welcome Striker071,

I think the Ka-Bar D2 would be a good choice for you. It will work well on LBE gear, and is light enough not to get in your way and tire you out.

There may be some better options out there. Depends on what or how you intend to use your knife.

I would invite you to do a search on youtube for Nutnfancy. He is a very knowledgeable reviewer and i am sure his input can help your decision.

Good luck

Thanks Sharpshooter.... will check on that. I am hoping that NOSS will chime in. I am willing to spend the money on a good knife. I like the Busse FFBM, it seems to be the only knife that survived NOSS's test completely, but from the research I have done on the web so far doesnt look promising. Not sure how the offerings from Busse compare at this time to the FFBM. My stand point on gear is get the best. There is a break point... wouldnt spend 6000 on a ar-15 platform if I can get the same or better for half the price. I know custom knives can cost in the thousands of dollars. I also wouldnt feel comfortable abusing a knife that cost that much. If you do destroy it , it may be tough to replace. Its kind of my thinking on a classic car... some would say hey put it in the garage and rub it with a diaper... my thinking is drive it enjoy it use it. So it doesnt need to pretty it needs to be tactical and practical...
