i got my tramontina 18in machete to hair whittle guit easy useing my new
1x30 in belt sander repofileing with 40 grit belt 80 g 120g the the convexed it useing 320g 400g and 2000g the strop loaded with brkt compound and i got these results

thanks guy but it is a cheap 30$ harbor freight 1x30inch sander

I love my $30 HF 1x30. Best tool I ever bought. I've got a $350 (Not that I paid that much for it.) Blue-Point Hurricane that just sits in the corner for most things because of that cheapie.:thumb:

I love my $30 HF 1x30. Best tool I ever bought. Same here. I use mine on everything from small slipjoints to swords. Worth WAAAY more than the $30 pricetag. :rockon:
Great job on that Tram, lsu. Great sound too. You can hear the blade ringing in the vid. :thumb::rockon:

Very nice.
I love to mod trams, like the finger grooves on yours, now drill a lanyard hole on it.
I keep a rather rough edge on my machetes, I find it goes through grasses and bush better.
Damn. That is one sharp machete. I may go down and buy one of those belt sanders.
