I have two of these and I really like them but I have a question for you guys. Does anyone feel that the convex edge of the blade thickness on this small knife make it a poor choice for delicate chores around the camp? I'm generally a scandi guy but the robustness of this convex grind causes me to revisit it time and again. That's the problem with too many choices, I can never decide on that one knife to fill each niche. Granted I know one knife can't do everything but I mean that one knife in it's intended class.

My A1 is very useful around camp with it's heavy convex edge. It's a bigger blade but for things like Whittling it does work compared to some of my other blades. It's a good question though. I haven't had much of a chance to compare these type of different edges for delicate work.

A convex edge or grind will always sacrifice some cutting efficiency in lieu of a stronger edge but the real question is whether that difference is truly noticeable to most people for things like carving, food prep, featherstick making etc...

I don't own a F1. My Mora 2000 works better for making feathersticks for sure. Since a convex edge is rounded and depending on how big the convex is you may have to tilt the edge inwards some instead of laying a scandi flat against the wood and pushing downward. So for long lateral slices that use only one side of the edge like feathersticks
a scandi grind should work better than a convex edge.
