View Full Version : Drunk and Angry!
So, this vid is crappy but I just wanted to post it so you guys could get a laugh. About 4 Jager bombs, and a few Coors Light's later I was tossing my Boker Trance at my buddys dogs' tennis ball and THE FIRST throw, it missed and hit the carpet. Bout 2 or 3mm of the tip bent almost sideways and the blade came crazy lose. Needless to say I was pissed and decided on a D-test :thumb:

LMFAO:D:D:D you should post this over the Böker forum on BF:rolleyes:
Lol@lateral play, anyway, I thought only the Busse folks get drunk:p Later time I got drunk, I sawed down a 8 years old apple tree in my backyard with a victorinox huntman. Used the saw after the neighbour's complain(woke him up 3am while chopping)
Tip first into carpet begs the question. What's under the carpet? Even if it's plywood, a sideways land will throw the weight of the handle over the blade causing a bend or break. Not to mention that carpet backing isn't exactly soft. And obviously no folder's lock (or blade) is gonna last more than one blow with a 10 lb hammer.
Funny though.
next time do a sobriety test, so its scientific.

Awesome. You see, Noss, finally an unbiased and objective knifetest with a controlled set of perameters that are repeatable and yield actual SCIENTIFIC results!! Take some freaking notes, Noss, you've got a long way to go, bro :D
Izan, you drunken bastard, I SALUTE YOU :rockon:
I SALUTE YOUR CAMERAMAN, TOO, THE OTHER EFFING CAMERAMAN
I was pissing myself while watching and have to change my damn shorts now! That is one fair unbiased test that mimics real world conditions indeed.
Keep 'em coming Izan!

Some say alcohol and sharp objects don't mix. They obviously haven't seen an Official Izan D-Test. :D:rockon:
and it only took 4 min....a little alcohol and a 8 pound maul really speeds things up!
LOL Awesome responses! Funny thing is the guys that know are laughing, those who don't think I am stupid or retarded for smashing a knife up :rockon:
I was chatting with Sharp the other day and we both agreed that if Noss does any testing on a CLB boker knife, to include the "throwing at a tennis ball on the carpet" test :thumb:
All in good fun. I probably could have grinded the edge out and tightened up the screws, but I was a bit intoxicated.
I have to give that blade some credit, I could not break the tip digging in the wood!

If it makes you feel any better, I think everyone's retarded. I did say it was funny though. Forgive my lack of wit Today I'm fighting off a ridiculous head cold. I will comment though on the fact that CLB is an excellent designer, but the execution is not always up to par. I've got a SC fixed (USA) and folder (Taiwan) that are excellent. My Direkt (China) however is just poorly put together.
don't know about the bokers, but the little lava knife Chad designed for spyderco was pretty solid.

I'm a big fan of Chad's designs, and I think Boker usually does a pretty good job producing the ones he designs for them. Izan was drunk and pissed, so I didn't take it seriously. It was just a funny vid he wanted us to check out. :thumb:
LOL !! :D I guess I have been doing it all wrong. If I use Izan's method I could do like 100
a day.:rockon::rockon: Quick,easy, and Painless. :thumb::D

The back ground music of The Doors - Riders On The Storm was excellent accompaniment. I liked the dog that was scurrying around. Beautiful dog and very cute. As for Chuck Losbanos' knives... well, I don't think they are hard use knives myself. They are more pretty looking knives to be clipped as a hideout or last ditch for an evening suit and tie event. Here's is Chuck's homepage where his personal bio talks about Japanese anime' and live action shows as well as toys...

I don't know if Chuck has a tactical background. Although you would think he would mention it based on the emphasis of the design of his knives.

Tactical background... I think topgun correction officer will surfice. He throws in the protos at the inmates, for real fieldtest, only the best designs will last:p
i don't know him, but Chad seems like good guy.
I don't see any reason to rag on him.

Agree. Lets keep it civil. He's not here to defend himself. I like some of the design's but I have never owned any.

My sincerest apologies. It was not my intent to rag. Just to clarify I just like to know the makers a little more if there is a specific intent for the use of the knives when I research them. I think Chuck's knives are fine and I even considered buying a couple in the past when they first came out. As I said I do not believe his knives are meant to be hard use to the level of abuse and destruction. They are, IMHO, meant to be for discretionary use and more for tactical last ditch or defensive / utility use. From his website it does state the intent of some of his knife designs. They do remind me of some of the knives Fred Perrin designed which is more for an urban tactical and defensive environment. It's all good and again my apologies if I came off wrong with my comments. Apologies to Chuck, too.
shmoopiebear: No problem. I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone.

So pointing fingers are directed at me, for I am nobody:D let's start the name calling game and change the T from KT to F... Wait a sec, don't mind me, not drunk, just barking mad:rolleyes: must be the grass I mowed;)
PS I am a big CLB fan, as one might have noticed from my collection. In case one is not able to sense the sarcasm, one has either smoke too much pot, or too little. Cum grano salis
Forget it then :rolleyes::D
After the Holidays I will be picking up a Boker Hyper. I don't know if CLB designed that blade, but I want one.
For the record, I like CLB knives and fully understand they are not (nor any knife) ment to with stand abuse as in the video :)

Chad posts on BFC with the username "Daywalker". He hangs out in the Boker forum, and I'm sure would answer any questions you have.

Yep, the Hyper is a CLB also. I don't have one, but I have its big brother the M-Type. Freakin' heavy duty and stout would be a good description. :rockon:

I should have listened to noss. I contacted him on youtube asking him about kabar heavy bowie or ontario large fixed blade. He told me that a cold steel kukri would out chop both. Well in my infinite UNwisdom i went for the ka bar. I did drink a bottle of makers mark whiskey before i went out and chopped and guest what happened 3 big pieces of the blade chipped off. I thought this was the best place to post this story and i also have the video of this idiots adventure, me. so in conclusion, sorry noss, ill listen next time.
kill_pen: Welcome to the forum. Crazy story :eek: Makers Mark is some good
Stuff I can see why you drank the whole bottle. :thumb::D

LMFAO, that was good stuff.
I have had both Trance and Sub Com, I chipped both blades the first week I had them, prying out a couple nails at work. Great looking design, but not a good EDC tool.
Great vid...needed a good laugh.:rockon::D
Thanks for sharing.

I'm not surprised. I had one of those AK74 knives. When it was brand new the lock gave on it and nearly took my finger off.
