I like these bayonets. Part of the design selection criteria was a bayonet that would have an intimidating factor. It certainly succeeds in this area. The handle is very nice to hold being soft. Much better than the M9 waffle pattern or M9 Ergo Grip.

I reckon it would be a great test. It has a stick tang unlike the M9 which has the blade screwed to the tang. The M9 tang was designed to aid in preventing blade breakage. The design calls for the tang to flex inside the handle space letting the user know that further pressure may result in blade breakage. This patented feature obviously was deemed unnecessary in the OKC3S.

wow thanks for the insight, it certainly is a beautifull peice of hardware. i did 5 years in the corps and never got issued one, but i want one ...although 100 bucks is a little out of my budget at the moment.
im very interested to see how much abuse they can withstand.

RRidgeback: Welcome to the forum. Tac45 sent me an Lan Cay M9 to test I'm going to put it up against it's Russian counter part. The Cold War is back on. !!!

Tack45: nice looking bayonets but you are missing the most important part. The M16's.

Funntyabout the missing M16. There are these wowsers over here that have made up some boring law that says it's bad to own them. Go figure!

you wouldnt happen to know the total weight of knife and sheath together would you?

While I don't own one, the somewhat pliable feeling grip is GREAT when the knife is wet. The size is also very good. I have a feeling it is a tough knife. and should do well in the Nosstruction test.:D

I say "should" because we all know what happens in these tests. Anything.

One Noss'e test that would be cool. would be intersting to see how it does now that Noss tested the M9.

What steel do they use for the OK3?

Thanks for the pics Tac!

I think we should call them "nosstruction tests" destruction somehow doesn't fit right...

The marines have designed a good one.
Would buy one myself if it didn't have serrations(I know they have military uses).
Have though about a m10 bayo though, thats like a improved m9 in 1095.

im obssessed with these knives... and well i finally broke down and bought one. 73 bucks shipped on ebay, which is not bad compared to the 100+ ive seen elsewhere. anyways, its a real beauty and looks like it can take a beating.. but ill be coddling mine and leave the beating to noss.
