shaving sharp in sixty seconds

i was sent a hinderer xm-18 that was really dull. even though it has a thick edge i had it newspaper slicing sharp in about 1 minute. i had to use a little more down pressure on the paper buffing wheel to remove the burr but that was no big deal. i'm glad the paper wheels are hard for this very reason. i have a vid of the knife slicing paper uploaded at my new website http://sites.google.com/site/richardjsknives/Home.

That is really good for sharpening a dull knife that is that thick to being super sharp in a minute. Benchstones would have taken me a long time to get it sharp unless I was microbeveling it at a thicker angle. Doing a full bevel sharpening on a thick knife can definately take some serious time on the benchstones. Very nice job on that one, the video speaks for itself.
