any type of crusader forge fixed blade would be great to see, they look tough as hell.

www.crusaderforge.com

the website claims

"Each knife design is prototyped and function tested against various materials such as wood, rope, muscle, bone, sheet metal and anything we have left in the shop that has reached the end of its useful life. Edge holding characteristics, transverse toughness and cutting ability are all evaluated prior to finalizing a knife design."

I've always wanted one of these.

They seem to be really good. I've heard that the owner took one through an anvil and it was still shaving sharp. Also the usual concrete chop didn't do much to it.

I would also be quite interested to see one of their knives go to the limit. Maybe the Oberland 3.

I can tell from Messer Magazine that this knife does have stronger lateral strength than a strider. Same steel different heat treat can make all the difference.

Quite expensive, too.

but do we know how much lateral strength the strider has?
cause noss never got to the flex test on it...
I think they might have some, just because of the thickness, but I still think they'd be kinda brittle.

Hello,

This post is old but letīs continue talking about Crusader Forge, if you donīt mind.

Is these real tough knifes (for a high carbon stainless steel), the best cpm s30v blades on the market (or as good as Phill Wilson cpm s30v blades)?

They mention their heat treatment, Triple Temper. Is this indication of high quality?

I have one of their folders, the FIFP fliper and it seems to be a high quality piece and very well built, but have not used it yet (Iīm more a colector rather than a user:().

Best regards!

Hugo.

I imagine they would perform similar to the striders in s30v. I see a lot of hype in the claims that people had heard.

From what I know about s30v I'm pretty f'ing certain it didn't do that.

Anyway I'm not sure how beneficial a triple temper really is for s30v, crucible recommends tempering twice at 315C with a freeze treatment in between. To me it seems like they might be including the cold treatment as temper, or they are doing it a third time cause hey it sounds good.
