a friend who is vp for a tv show asked me to make a knife on the show. i'm not too enthused about being seen on tv after talking to mike o'machearley who was featured on 60 minutes back in january. ( http://www.omachearleycustomknives.com/ ) things turned out good for him but there have been some strange people contact him that are better off being ignored. i told my friend i'll do it if i'm only seen from the elbows down to my hands. (no i'm not putting on a hockey mask just to be on tv so dont even mention it) last year my friend was out at a mutual friends house and i showed him my knives which he really liked. here is the email my friend sent me back in january asking me again if i would be on his show.

Hello Richard,
Sure was nice hearing from you. I hope that you enjoyed the holidays and surving the cold and snow this week. Boy, you sure do a nice job on those knives it would be a shame to use them. I forwarded the information to Becky about maybe doing a segment with you and making the knives. What are your thoughts on that? Keep me posted.
Again, thanks
DT

i'm still not sure if i want to do it. what do you guys think? (any smart remarks from anyone and i'll ban your ass :D)

Go for it! I was on a documentary in 1997 called "Searching for Tony Joe" about singer Tony Joe White. Instead of making knives I was making music! It won lots of indie awards till it was pulled for copywright issues. If you cant find it on the wed , contact me, I'll get you a copy! oh yeah, thanks for the pictures. Thats some awesome blades!

you'll have to email or snailmail me the video since i dont allow vids to play on my pc over the net due to security settings. i'm glad you like my knives. noss has one i made that had some defects in the steel but still made a good knife. i dont think he has sharpened it yet but i dont know for sure.

I would do it. Especially, if you can show off your work. Free advertising. Nuff Said.

i do have a gun and i can use it really well :D. if they are too close for a gun i have plenty of knives. i asked my friend to find out of any emails to me can go through the show since he's wanting me to be on his show. i think that might cut down on the crazies.

Go ahead and do it. It gets you publicity. Don't worry about the moonbat nutjobs. I think you'll get more serious buyers from this than complaints from loonies looking to ban knives, guns, sticks, etc.

Yeah, none of this "But wait! There's more!!" said in the overly loud, infuriating Billy Mays voice that makes me want to bash the TV with a blunt instrument.:D

i just talked to my buddy. they are now starting season 4 for the summer and they will be filming soon.
i wanted to have a buddy film me grinding the knife with his camera but they use a high def camera since all the stations are switching to it. i need a phildo mask to wear since i'm not wanting to showing my face. (hint hint)

a neighbor has one but i thought a phildo mask would be better. one of him with a dumb look on his face.
