Wonder how one of these (https://www.kabar.com/product_detail.jsp?productNumber=1249&mode=search&categoryId=1,2,3,7&categoryName=Product%20Search%20Results) would do?

Man, you got almost the same blade in test already: Heavy Bowie by Ka-Bar. It is the same steel, same handle and if we consider fact that Ka-Bars might be weak in tang, kukri would be even more liable to brake near handle, becuse it is critical part of all kukris. Some of this old producers made blades traditionally- the end of the blade: the handle part, is quenched into thorn, and this part is not so well tempered as blade is.

Good point, I guess I have never watched the large bowie test. I was just thinking kukri after the CS test.:D
