Kinda like the jack of all trades master of none. anyway i am researching for a knife around 150.oo or so maybe a little over or a little under to replace my gerber. i am liking the comments and info thats on this forum and will be looking forward to ur comments and suggestions. Welcome! Check out the "What knives do you own?" forum to see what others are saying about their knives. There should be something there that fits what you're looking for.:thumb:

the spyderco endura 4 with the Emerson wave is a great all around folding knife. VG10 steel holds an edge a long time and the wave opens the blade for you when you pull it from your pocket.

i have been doing some look'n around and found Benchmade's Thrift or the model 940 to be good candidates. any more suggestions.

Anything from Benchmade can be considered top notch. I like the 940 better of the two. My personal every day carry knife is a Kershaw Leek.

Welcome to the forum. I don't own many folders. I do have a Spyderco Endura that has served me well over the years. I have a RAO also but this is more knife then you are looking for.

I like the Kershaw Zero Tolerance 0200. I don't own one but they look nice.

If the Zero Tolerance is made as well as the Leek, it's worth the money. I have been very happy with the Leek. It opens fast, is very sharp, and only cost $39.

yup still looking and the Leek is too pointy for my apps. but i will consider it once i go and look at it and hold it as well.
also found some other name brands: Pohl, Boker, and LoneWolf. any opinions

Boker is very good. That's the only one I have experience with out of the ones you mentioned.

Spyderco, kershaw and benchmade are the big 3 for folders. Lone wolf has a good rep too, but boker seems to get mixed reviews.
