Picked up another toy today. This Yard Keeper LE is awesome! Man talk about well put together, & it feels sooooo sweet in hand.

The first thing I noticed was the thickness(.267") of the blade. I cannot for the life of me ever seeing anyone snapping this puppy(well maybe Noss ;) ). Plain & simple it's a tank!

The next thing was just how well it fits my hand. My hands are bigger than normal but I do prefer knives with this size handle. It just gels when I skin/bone-out deer.
And talk about grippy. I don't know what goes into these handles but whatever does I hope Scrap Yard NEVER stray away from this design. IMO it has KISS written all over it, so simple, comfortable & as tough as nails. It's grip is sort of sticky in-hand which is the icing on the cake for me. I cannot ever see my hand slipping off even when soaked in blood or water, which means allot to me as one slip in the middle of no-where can mean disaster.

Do I like it, no I love it! This will be one knife they have too pry out of my cold clammy hands.

Have another Yard Keeper coming in standard CG form, will let you know how it compares with the thicker LE.

Nice looking blade. Just be careful with those Scrap Yard knives they are very fragile, kind of like a bulldozer. :p:D

what about rust though?

I'm wondering... If it rusts enough will the carbon steel fail? (rookie question but my expertise has been more with stainless and titanium)
DOn't want it to end up looking as some Indonesian Perang machete either with 2 mm rust on the sides...

Do the Busse coatings help?
