Very interesting. I did not know the blades were not actually grinded, but milled. I thought the were ground like any other knives. Interestinf salt bath also... but i heard it's extremely dangerous: one water drop in the bath could make an explosion, with 800°C bits flying right on your face. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like they did do some work on the grinds with a belt grinder after milling.
A salt quench is used for Mar Tempering....I think the oil quenches are the ones that are dangerous with water drops?

In fact, the salts are not used as a quenching medium, but to heat the blade to the right temperature homogenously. As they are extremely hot, i guess the smallest water drop makes an immediate and violent chemical reaction. Oil quenching is relatively safe, you just have to be carefull the gas are not set to fire by the heat of the forge, oven or even the blade if you quench partially.

From what I've read, I don't think you can find a better medieval Euro style sword than Albion, unless you go custom. Way out of my price range, but very, very cool.
